Frequently Asked Questions
What does functional medicine involve?
Functional medicine is a patient-centered approach to your health. It empowers you, as the patient, to work together with your practitioner to explore and address the root causes of disease and promote optimal wellness. We look at interactions between the environment and the gastrointestinal, endocrine, and immune systems to develop an individualized treatment plan.
What integrative health strategies do you use?
We use nutrition, exercise, stress reduction, toxin elimination, mind and body practices, sleep habits, and supplementation to provide whole-picture health solutions. Recommended integrative health strategies will be based on your specific needs.
What illnesses do you treat?
Because we treat the underlying or root cause of a disease, integrative and functional medicine have the potential to reduce or eliminate a wide variety of disease-related symptoms. We heavily focus on women who suffer from symptoms related to chronic fatigue syndrome, autoimmune disorders, and weight loss management issues. We use lifestyle strategies and comprehensive lab testing to determine deficiencies and toxicities in the body that may cause symptoms related to chronic disease.
What will be required of me if I commit to one of your programs?
You will have an open mind! You will meet with a health coach once a month for the next 3-6 months to discuss root causes, set goals, and determine lifestyle modifications that will lead you to optimal health. You will be willing to do the work agreed upon during each session in order to meet your goals.
